Available in T5 and T5 R-Design trims, the front-wheel drive C30 has a sporty front MacPherson strut/rear multi-link suspension. Powered by a 227-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-five-cylinder engine, it is matched with a six-speed manual transmission or five-speed Geartronic automatic.
Changes for 2012
Both the standard T5 and the T5 R-Design get new Premium Plus and Platinum options packages that replace the Multimedia and Preferred packages. The Premium Plus package includes a power sunroof, a power driver seat with memory, a power front passenger seat, LED daytime running lights and metallic interior trim. The Platinum package includes all the same features as the Premium Plus package but adds an upgraded audio system, navigation and satellite radio. In addition to the new options, all models get Bluetooth connectivity for both phone and audio, a rear-seat armrest and an alarm system. Caspian Blue is a new exterior color.

Using the global positioning satellite system, a liquid crystal 6.5-inch display shows your location on a map and plots the best route to your destination.
Via TMC (Traffic Message Channel) radio data broadcasts VNS also lets
you know if there's traffic or weather-related trouble on route and
recommends an alternative. Controls are conveniently located on the
steering wheel. When not in use, the screen retracts into the dashboard.
All map-based information is stored on DVD discs. Volvo's Navigation System includes Map Care which provides two map data updates at no charge.
