DNNC Steps to Success & McKevitt Volvo Provide Holiday Miracle for Single Mother
The holidays are the time of the year that San Leandro, CA nonprofit DNNC Steps to Success eagerly looks forward to. DNNCSTS changes a single mother's life by giving her a car!
DNNCSTS provides women and single mothers with scholarships to attend beauty school while also learning social skills to keep jobs. Most importantly, single mothers are provided with parenting classes, etiquette training, financial literacy, and more to ensure better lives for their children.
This year, their fundraising efforts fell short of making this year's car purchase, so Delane turned to McKevitt Volvo to ask for their help. After speaking to Delane with DNNCSTS, GM Kenneth Brizendine and the McKevitt Volvo team made it possible for DNNCSTS to provide a car to a single mother at the dealership's cost, plus tax, license and insurance!
Delane who started this program based on her challenges as a single mother and stated that she was so excited about everything that it wasn't until she left the parking lot that she realized that her first car as a single mother was a - Volvo!
